Our Alumni Grant Program was created to be a lifeline—one that allows these resilient youth to transition smoothly into adulthood with the education, housing, and financial stability they need to build a successful future.
As you may know, the foster care system’s support typically ends at the age of 21, leaving many without the crucial resources they’ve had while in our care. With limited family support networks, they often face financial, educational, and housing challenges that can make this period especially difficult. For those in vulnerable financial situations, a small setback can create significant barriers. Many of our alumni dream of furthering their education, gaining new skills, and advancing their careers. With the rising costs of tuition, textbooks, and essential supplies, continuing education often feels unattainable.

When I left Everstand, I went to Loyola College full-time and worked part-time as a cashier at the local grocery store. Everstand paid for my textbooks each semester and paid my energy bill each month. I graduated from Loyola College with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Through Everstand’s Alumni Grant Program, my undergraduate student loans were completely paid.
