Rescue & Rehabilitation
When the first steps feel unimaginable,
we are here.
Childhood trauma — be it an isolated event or extended circumstances — leaves a lasting impact in the life of the child. That impact can be subtle, silently lurking in the background of the day-to-day. Other times, trauma shows itself in a more outwardly destructive manner. No matter the shape it takes, we know how insidious and far-reaching the impact of trauma can be, and we’ve created a series of programs and services to help ease the way for hope and healing.
We are here to provide rescue and rehabilitation for youth in the mid-Atlantic, including:
- The children and families who have recently migrated to the United States in search of a better life
- Youth victims of human trafficking, who have been living in fear and seek safety, desperately in need a new beginning
Protecting Lifelong Wellness
A youth who has suffered instability or abuse is more likely to experience PTSD, depression, and anxiety. A child is also at increased risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.
How we support youth and their families.
Regional Navigator Program
For youth and young adult survivors of sex trafficking, the road to recovery extends beyond the initial rescue. Our Regional Navigator Program for Anne Arundel County provides support services that promote safety, self-sufficiency, and wellbeing — all through a single point of contact.
Caminos®
Every day, children from all over the world leave their homes in search of a safer life. Our Caminos® program provides safe, secure placement options for these youth who have often made the hazardous journey alone facing exploitation, abuse, and human trafficking.
A Goal of Ongoing Support
We strive to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of youth impacted by childhood trauma, building hope for a bright, healthy, secure future. Our extensive Rescue and Rehabilitation offerings give youth and their families control over what the future holds.
